We recommend a first orthodontic check around age 7, while treatment typically begins between 10 and 14. Orthodontics is equally effective for adults — there is no upper age limit.

How long does orthodontic treatment take?

Duration depends on the complexity of each case. For most patients it ranges from 12 to 24 months, with regular appointments every 2–4 weeks.

Braces or clear aligners — which should I choose?

It depends on the severity of your case and your lifestyle. Braces are better suited for complex cases, while aligners offer more discretion and flexibility. At your assessment appointment we explain which option suits your situation best.

Is orthodontic treatment painful?

It is normal to feel mild sensitivity in the days after each adjustment. This passes quickly and needs no special treatment. The experience is far more comfortable than most patients expect.

What happens after treatment? Is maintenance needed?

Yes — once treatment is complete we fit a retaining device to hold the result. Depending on the case, this may be a bonded wire (fixed retainer), a removable retainer, or a combination of both.
